I took a quick look at the ship manifest and although a little hard to read, on column 11 it says Rudolph 's closest relative is his father Ernst Rines. Do you think it was a mistake or is his father really Frederich Rinas. I will hopefully have time to check some records later this evening on the Rinas family. If Rudolph fought in the first World War for the US, there must be some records for that. Perhaps it would list his wife's maiden name. I also will try to check for the village name of the area in Russia. I am going to give you my email address to email me directly. It is [gelöscht].
I travelled in the Zhytomyr area last October and would be happy to share some picture of the countryside with you.
Also do you know what religion the family was? There are Lutheran records and a few Baptists but seems like the people from the Catholic religion settled farther south in Russia.
