Dear Valentin

Oskar Truderung was my grandfather. He was married to Mathilde Witt and they had six children in Warsaw. My mother was the second youngest and her name was Else. She was born in 1907 and when she was three years old Oskar died suddenly from a tumour in his brain. His wife Mathilde asked Oskar's parents for financial help but they said they had already paid for Oskar's training at the Baptist seminary in Moscow, so she went to live with her parents in Pomerania. Only three of the six children had children of their own. they were the oldest Agnes, who had two daughters but neither of them had a child. Then there were three other daughters who did not marry or have children. The one son, Paul had three children and they are all alive in Germany today. My mother married my father Charles Taylor, an Englishman, when she was in India at the end of the war in 1945. She had two sons, who are myself, Paul, and my brother Malcolm. We both live in Australia where my parents moved in 1971 and we have six children and one grandchild between us.
Paul Truderung died at the end of the war - actually he disappeared after he was called up to the army at the every end of the war. His wife, Hanschen eventually moved to the West where her daughter Ursula already moved just before East Germany was closed. That was because her husband Otto, a farmer, did not want to stay in the collective system. They have three sons, and have several grand children. They live in Ravensburg. I visited them for the first time last year 2009. The other two children of Paul Truderung are Norbert, who lives in Neustrelitz and Peter who lives I think in Darmstadt. They both have children of their own.
Sorry this is in English - my German will improve I hope, best wishes
