My ancestors include the Stubel (or Stubelt) family from Volhynia. I have the following information in my charts.

1. Four siblings appear to have migrated to Volhynia, possibly from Karolev and Zulien, Siedlce, Russian Poland. Earlier records have not been found and parents names are not known. They are:

Andreas S; b.about 1822; m.to Karoline Hinz
Samuel S; m.to Juli Schoppke (some records show Schielke) (she was b.16 Dec 1831, d.24 May 1899)
Julianne S; b.about 1830; first husband August Zado; second husband August Singbeil, m.09 Sep 1871
Christine S; m.to Carl Buettner

2. I have further information about the family of Andreas who migrated to Woodley, Saskatchewan, Canada and can provide that for you if you wish.

3. I can get more information for you about Julianne if you would like it. She and her children also migrated to Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

4. I have no further information about Christine.

5. Samuel was a Kantor in Volhynia. You can read a little about him on the wolhynien.de WIKI. Samuel had at least 9 children. I will not list them all but here are the important ones.

Katherine S; b.13 Apr 1860; d.28 Aug 1913 at Niverville, Manitoba, Canada; m.to Friedrich Gartz 14 May 1878 (these are my great grandparents)

Rosine S; b.07 Mar 1863; d.Mar 1960 at Thalberg, Manitoba; m.to Paul Wittmeier (Paul was born 07 May 1860 at Friedenslust, Gostynin, Russian Poland and he died 07 Jan 1938, probably also at Thalberg)

Karoline S; b.31 May 1869 at Marzilindorf, Volhynia (I suspect this is your ancestor).

Now my records show a small problem. From an unreliable source (family lore) I have a note saying that an unnamed sister in this family married a Rudolph Wittmeier and that this couple remained in Volhynia. Then, from the record books, we find that Rudolf Wittmeier and Mathilde Stubel were godparents 25 Sep 1884 for Adolf Wittmeier, son of Paul W. and Rosine Stubel. It appears that I assumed incorrectly that this was the missing sister in my data. However, I now see where this Mathilde was probably a cousin of Karoline. This Karoline has to be the one that married your Rudolf W.

Many of the Samuel's descendants ended up at Thalberg, Manitoba where my mother was born.
