Thank you both very much!! I will read these in detail and will continue to research.

I also found a Friedrich Meister who was reported missing in the Saratov Volkszeitung newspaper of February 17th, 1916. It looks like many of the missing people were reporting regarding Volhynia so it's possible it was my ancestor but there is no proof: https://www.sggee.org/research/misc_databases/Missing%20Persons.pdf

I don't know where to get the scans of the original newspaper, and I doubt it has any more information. I have Emailed the person who wrote the newspaper transcription.

Also I made a mistake before. I have difficulty reading the birth records. According to the Odessa3 transcription, these people were not born in Segenthal:

Gottlieb born in Antonijew.
Julianna born in Antonijew.
Friedrich born in Andrejew.
