I have finally searched the proper dates and I believe I have found my grandfather under the name Rudolf Rines rather than Rudolf Manos, as he was known later. Who knows what his German/Russian name really was. On the ship passenger list from Trieste, his home is listed as Labukin, Russia. Labukin does not turn up any matches but there are several towns in Volhynia sort of close to that. Does anyone have a studied opinion as to what town may have been interpreted as Labukin when he booked passage in Trieste?
