I replied to your request regarding the village of Karolinów at ger-poland-volhynia@googlegroups.com yesterday, but my reply didn't get through. Therefore here once again.

Gustav Rosin's birth entry 1896 is not in the SGGEE database. But there was a brother Richard ROSIN born 5 May 1902 in Derman and baptized 9 May 1902 in Karolinov, Zhitomir parish (father Ferdinand Rosin, mother Wilhelmine Meling).

This Derman is probably the colony Derman, located about 30 km southeast of Novograd Volynsk. According to Jerry Frank's map, there was a "Karolinow" in the immediate vicinity, but one cannot find this place on any of the historical maps.

Wilhelmine Rosin née MELLING died in 1904 in Karolinow, at the age of 39. The country of origin was given as Poland. Her husband Ferdinand probably remarried.

I found the birth entry of Wilhelmine MELLING in the church book of Przasnysz (1864 #123). She was born on 25 Jun 1864 in Sewerynowo. Her parents were Jan (Johann) MELLING, 38, and Karolina BUROK, 35.
