I didn't know how to post to you directly, so I'm just replying to one of your previous posts.

You've been of so much help to me, and I can't even begin to thank you enough.

I have been doing a lot more research on Michael Pöhl and his family in Poland. You were the one who first gave me the information that Michael's first wife was Eva Mejert and that they had four children in Poland. I have now found the original birth records for all four children, confirming the information you gave me.

I have also found marriage records for Michael and three of his siblings — Henryk, Rosalia and Krystina Pöhl. These records confirm that their parents were Heinrich Pöhl and Anna Drewes and that they were born in Brzozówka. I also found Anna Pöhl née Drewes's death record from 1878 in Podlesie.This has made me wonder about something I have not been able to solve. Do you happen to know what happened to Eva Mejert and the four children? Eva was already dead when Michael, as a widower, married Marianna Appelt in Mariendorf in 1879. Their first child was born in Mariendorf in 1880, and their remaining five children were born in Wandy Wola.

Do you know when or where Eva died, and whether Michael's four children with Eva went with him to Volhynia or remained in Poland? I have even wondered whether Eva could have died during the family's journey to Volhynia, although that is only a theory.

I would also be very interested to know where you originally found the information about Eva Mejert and the four children, since everything you told me about them has now been confirmed by the records I have found.

And I have also been wanting to ask you more about the Appelt family. I have found some of the older discussions on the Volhynien forum concerning Appelts, including posts from you and Ansgar, and I have started finding records for Marianna Appelt's family as well.
