Interestingly, the author's name is given as Rita Biberdorf, not Helen Gehnert (who may have been the second wife of Arnold Biberdorf, she was of Baltic German background). The title of the manuscript is "Erde und Wind" - Lebenschronik eines Wolhyniendeutschen (1962). There are about 30 pages on Arnold's and his brother Theodor's life in America, where they arrived in January 1916 (Seattle, Snomish, Kreston, Everett). Their brother Reinhold already lived in America since 1896. Arnold and Theodor returned to Volhynia in 1917/1918.
