Konakow - Wolhynien-Forum

Hallo,
kennt jemand von Euch vielleicht den Ort Konakow oder Koniakow und sind damit eventuell die gleichen Orte gemeint?

Hallo Manuela,

'Koniakow' liegt im Kirchspiel Rozyszcze, in der Nähe der Eisenbahnstrecke zwischen Rozyszcze und Holoby, etwa auf halbem Weg.

Anzusehen auf der Lück-Karte im Index C3.

Einen Ort 'Konakow' habe ich nicht gefunden. Durch Hör- und Schreibfehler kann aus 'Koniakow' aber leicht 'Konakow' werden. Woher stammt die Ortsangabe ?

Hallo,
die Ortsangabe habe ich aus den sippenkundlichen Fragebögen. 3 Kinder sind dort geboren, 2 in Zapust und der Rest in Nicolajewka kreis Luzk.

in den "sippenkundlichen Fragebögen" sind die Ortsnamen oft verkehrt geschrieben. 'Koniakow' muß richtig sein, denn 'Zapust' liegt auf der Lueck-Karte ebenfalls im Index C3, 'Nikolajewka' in D3, beides ebenfalls Kirchspiel Rozyszcze.

I'm from Ukarine and speak both Ukrainian and Russian.
In reply to your question i can say that Zapust is a village in Volyn' region with Lutsk being the centre.

But I've found Konakowo not Konakov and not Koniakow. Konakovo is a town in Tversk region, Russian Federation.

Konakovo (Russian: Конаково) is a town in Tver Oblast, Russia. It is located on the right bank of the Ivankovo Reservoir (Volga River) at 56°42′N 36°47′ECoordinates: 56°42′N 36°47′E. Population: 42,335 (2002 Census); 42,522 (1989 Census). It is the administrative center of Konakovsky District. It was founded in 1806 and received town status in 1937.

Thank you for your efforts in trying to find the correct villages.

The location for the village must be taken in context of the known German settlements and the parish in which documents are located. One often also has to use historical maps as some of these villages no longer appear on modern maps.

For example, if all one knows is that their origin was Zapust, Volhynia, there would be a problem because there are several Zapust within that historical boundary. However, if one finds a record for this family in the Rozyzczce parish books, then we can readily assume that it is the one you describe.

As for Koniakow, we know from historical maps that this was a village that existed a short distance NW of Rozyzczce along the main road. The Konakovo you found is clearly NOT the correct location as it is hundreds of km to the east.
