I am interested in any Wegner families that migrated from Volhynia/Wolhynien to the Rostock area of Germany. Known persons are Julius Wegner and Alide Foehrding nee Wegner. Any help appreciated.

your question has an interesting backround. In old articles of Volhynia in 1935 - 1938 are written about the holidays of our children in Rostock.

My email account can take up to 1 mb attachment but no more. The mailbox should have notified you if it couldn't take it. Yesterday someone sent me a large attachment so I will delete it to make room. Sometimes overseas emails have a short delay in appearing don't know for sure why. Will keep you up to date. Robin

I'm afraid I won't be able to figure out why the email notification doesn't work for Australia. Sorry for the inconvenience.
As for your query on the WEGNER family, perhaps including information on the time frame, way of migration, and their religion would be of help. Any chance they became naturalized in Germany during WWII? If so, it might be worth looking into the EWZ files. And have you ever tried the Heimatortskartei / Kirchlicher Suchdienst of Stuttgart and the German Red Cross?
