Parish is the english word for Kirchspiel. Both Korez and Horodyszcze were under the Zhitomir Parish until the summer of 1888 when Horodyszcze would have been transferred to the newly formed parish of Tutschin/Tuczyn; and then in the summer of 1889 a further boundary change occurred and Korez became a part of the Nowograd Wolynsk parish. Both Korez and Horodyszcze remained in Polish Wolhynia after the War but I am not sure of whether they both remained with Tutschin or if Korez might have been placed under the Rowno parish; and then in about 1930 the Lutheran church was severly repressed and the births, marriages, and deaths were registered only in the Civil Registry Office in the nearest large center. I am a bit hazy on the exact details of the post World War I period; perhaps someone has more information about this time period.
