Thank you! We have seen the name "Mieczyslowa" (sp?) a few times, and so I feel like we are very close to the villages of the family origins. The granddaughter you have been emailing with is my mother. We are both working on this project together!

Because of the family names you mentioned, I suspect the Julijanow you seek was part of eight small communities in Julijanow-Boratyn school district. These eight small settlements(colonies)came in to being between 1865 and 1875 in the forests east of the small town of Torczyn. These were: Mieczyslowa, Juljanow, Pawlow, Czarnelozy, Zablotce, Kurhany, Markmillerszczyzna and Seliszcze. Juljanow was situated about in the middle of these communities, to the right of the Torczyn-Rozyszcze road. The distance to Torczyn was about 7 km and Rozyszcze, 12 km.

The index of farm owners before WW1 lists Johann Fehr in Juljanow and August Lach in Mieczyslawow. Reschke settled in Zablotce, which is where my Hanke ancestors were from. A man named Reschke was the second teacher and he liked to knit gloves during class time.

The families we are looking for are August Lach and Johan Fehr.

August Lach had two wives (Mathilde and Emilia). His daughter, Alwine Lach 1910, was my grandmother.

Emilia's father was Johan Fehr. He married Leontina Reschke (?).

The families I am looking for are Lach and Fehr.

In our collection from Polish Volynia in 1939 we have 8 families LACH and 4 families FEHR. Can you write us the first names and names of wifes?

Thank you for your assistance! The families I am looking for are Lach and Fehr. I know they were in the village from 1900 until the late 1940s. They may have been there much earlier, but it is not confirmed.

it is difficult to find the right village "Julijanow" in Volynia without any informations. In the official russian list of settlements from 1906 I could read 8 villages. All 8 villages were called Julianow or Julianowka:

2x Julianowka, Ujesd Shitomir
1x Julianowka, Ujesd Wladimir-Wolynsk
2x Julianowka, Ujesd Dubno
1x Julianowka, Ujesd Kowel
1x Julianow, Ujesd Luzk
1x Julianowka, Ujesd Luzk

I am REALLY have a difficult time trying to find the village of "Julijanow" in Volynia. My ancestors were German speaking Lutherans. Any information you can provide would be extremely helpful - Latitude/Longitude, GPS, directions in relation to Lutzk. Much thanks!
